Assistant Project Manager – Real Estate/Construction

Orr Partners, a leading provider of Construction and Real Estate Project Management services, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) with 5 to 7 years experience for immediate employment in its Reston, Virginia office. 

Candidate will provide administrative and reporting support to the Senior Project Managers and project team.  APM will be responsible for:  Creating and distributing weekly reports to project team, including meeting minutes, flash reports and task lists; creating and maintaining administrative logs such as change orders, RFI’s, etc.; assembling and distributing all information for monthly reports to clients; collecting vital contact information for all project team members.  APM will provide support to Senior Project Managers by:  maintaining electronic and hard copy files, developing and issuing RFP’s for consulting and general contractor services; maintaining all construction documentation; developing and maintaining project schedules. 

The employee in this position will be required to travel as needed approximately 40% of employees time (2 to 3 days per week.)

Candidates must have experience in working with a diverse group of people, have experience in developing strong working relationships with peers from other firms, and must work well independently and possess strong written communications skills.  Experience with computers, especially, Microsoft Office, and demonstrated knowledge of computer based project management systems (Suretrak, Primavera, EADOC) a plus.  Must possess an applicable BS degree (engineering, construction, etc.) and have at least 5 to 7 years equivalent specialized experience in construction or real estate project management.

Code Compliance Specialist /Real Estate-Construction

Orr Partners, a leading provider of Construction and Real Estate Project Management services, is seeking a Code Compliance Specialist with a minimum of 3 to 5 years experience for immediate employment.

Candidate requirements are:

  • A working knowledge and experience in one or more building trades – electrical, carpentry, concrete, mechanical and plumbing and will all apply this knowledge in inspecting on-going construction in buildings located throughout the Mid-Atlantic Area.
  • ICC/IBC certifications required along with experience in electrical, plumbing, mechanical codes, ASTM and NFPA codes or standards.
  • A demonstrated ability to read, understand and interpret ordinance and construction documents including, but not limited to: construction plans, specifications, and engineering data as well as plan and organize daily work with appropriate supervision.
  • Ability to work well and establish positive working relationships with property managers, and any other internal and external professionals.
  • Working conditions will be inside and outside in varied weather conditions and the Code Compliance Specialist will be required to wear safety equipment and follow all local and federal OSHA standards.
